Concealed Pistol

You can obtain a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) Application Packet from the Clerk's Office, Room Number 109.

Carrying Concealed Weapons (Effective December, 2013)

New Applicants

  1. Complete the required 8 hour training course
  2. Submit your completed unsigned application with the following, to the Otsego County Clerk's Office:
    1. Training certificate
    2. Valid picture ID with current address
    3. $115 fee payable by cash or check (check payable to: Otsego County Clerk)
  3. Once you have completed the above steps, you will need to take your paid receipt to the Otsego County Jail to have your fingerprints taken. Printing hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  4. Your CPL will be mailed to you by the County Clerk.

Renewal Applicants

  1. Complete 3 hours of review of the required training materials and have at least 1 hour of firing range time in the last 6 months. The Otsego County Concealed Pistol Licensing Board recommends that you contact your previous instructor, or any firearms instructor, for more detailed information.
  2. Submit your completed unsigned application with the following, to the Otsego County Clerk's Office:
    1. Valid picture ID with current address
    2. Previous license
    3. $115 fee payable by cash or check (check payable to: Otsego County Clerk)
  3. Your CPL will be mailed to you by the County Clerk.
